Earthquake story

Monday morning  an Earthquake started at 8:12 a. m in the San Francisco Bay area. A building housing McHenry's Auto Supply at 2342 Plum St.  collapsed, two people were killed, the names of the dead are being withheld pending notification of families according to Jennifer Vu, a public information officer from the Hayward Fire Department.
The earthquake was a 6.4 on the Richter scale and it occurred on the Hayward Fault. Six people were also injured, three of the people were so badly hurt that they required hospitalization.Other then the eight effected by the accident there were no other serious injuries reported in Hayward.
“I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling." said Hayward resident Mike Beamer. "I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street.”
The Hayward authorities did as much as they could, as fast a they could, to try and help the people and keep everybody else safe. In an attempt to to save more lives the hayward firefighters used ropes to stabilize the auto supply shop.
"This was a Strong one" said scientist Penny Gertz. " This quake occurred from under the hills on the Hayward Fault"
Some Hayward residents whose apartments were across the street from McHenry's, said they felt a rolling motion that lasted for about thirty seconds.
"People as far south as Los Angeles" said Gertz. "and as far north as Redding felt the quake"
